Who pays the import taxes?
Import taxes are paid in the buyer's country. By default, the buyer pays them at delivery. Say it clearly, or the buyer may refuse the parcel.
Do it now in your shop
- Write it in your listing: import taxes are paid by the buyer.
- Or include them in your price, if your carrier offers duties paid (DDP).
- USA: no more duty-free small parcels since August 2025. European Union: VAT on every parcel, and a customs duty on small parcels since July 2026.
- Rates change often: check with your carrier on the day you send.
