In the temple, the Siam Si is not drawn again until a better answer appears. Accept this message, reflect on it, and return tomorrow for a new question.
How Siam Si is practised
In Thai temples, worshippers kneel before the Buddha image and gently shake a bamboo cylinder filled with numbered sticks until one falls. Its number matches a printed fortune slip.
Ask
Quiet your mind and hold one sincere question: love, work, health, money, or a decision you must make.
Draw
One stick falls, one number is chosen. Some temples then toss the two crescent-shaped poey blocks to confirm it.
Accept
Fortunes can be good, mixed or difficult, and one slip may be bright for love yet cautious for money. The answer is received, not redrawn.
Inspired by traditional Thai fortune slips, including the series used at Wat Luang Pho Sothon. For reflection and entertainment only: it does not replace medical, legal or financial advice.
